As an Investor, you would be required to make a passive investment of CAD $ 400,000 either by (1) deposit of that amount through a broker, which would be refunded to you interest free after five years, or (2) payment of CAD $ 120,000 (non-refundable) to cover interest to secure an investment loan of CAD $ 400,000.

As an Entrepreneur, you would be required to start a new business or to buy into an existing business in Canada, to have an active role in its day to day management, and meet certain employment and profitability requirements.

As a Self-Employed businessperson you would carry on a career such as a high level artist or athlete or in certain circumstances farming.
